Nepíše se ovšem rok 2001 a věže nepadají k zemi, je rok 1974 a jednoho rána se ve výšce čtyřset metrů mezi oběma budovami objeví lano – a na něm Philippe Petit stráví dlouhých pětačtyřicet minut, než ho policie zatkne.
