Darlene Deibler Rose Knihy

Darlene Deibler Rose was an American missionary who served in Papua New Guinea during and after World War II. She was a pioneering figure, being the first American woman to enter the Baliem Valley. Her experiences, including internment in a women's prison camp where she faced severe illness, profoundly shaped her perspective. Rose often attributed her resilience during these challenging times to her Christian faith. After the war, she continued her missionary work and later relocated to the Australian outback, dedicating nearly thirty years to her calling in New Guinea.
