Skupina Šerosvit ztrácí poslední zábrany a rozhodne se použít všech možných prostředků, aby zničila jak kompromitující materiály, tak i toho, kdo je získal. Co znamená chovat se podle naučeného vzorce a bezchybně plnit rozkazy už Robokat zažil. Vzepřít se a vydat se svou cestou už také vyzkoušel. Jenže porozumět lidskému světu, ve kterém se kromě přátelství a sounáležitosti objevuje i vypočítavost a nenávist, se ještě nenaučil. Ve snaze zachránit svůj tým se pouští do dalšího dobrodružství a nutno podotknout, že tentokrát bude muset nasadit veškeré svoje síly, aby se z něho nestalo dobrodružství poslední. Otázku si ale klade stále stejnou: jsem spíš bezcitný stroj určený k zabíjení, nebo bytost s nově získanými lidskými vlastnostmi?

Věrným čtenářům brilantně napsané sci-fi série Z deníků Robokata není třeba představovat hlavní postavu humanoidního robota, který se při kontaktu s lidmi nedokáže ubránit sarkastickým poznámkám na adresu lidstva. Jenže ve svém novém dobrodružství zažije Robokat naprosto nečekané situace a bude se muset projevit tak, jak ho čtenáři doposud nepoznali. Když se na pokojné stanici v oblasti pod správou Skupiny pro ochranu prostředí nalezne tělo zavražděného muže, musí místní ochranka navzdory počáteční neochotě a nedůvěře přibrat Robokata do svého vyšetřovacího týmu a nechat ho, aby s inspektorkou Aylenovou dopadl vraha podle svých vlastních a leckdy nevybíravých metod. I v druhém díle deníků Robokata se opět setkáváme s postavou sympatického a neustále sebe ironizujícího androida. Oproti předchozí misi se ale teď ocitá na útěku a ve snaze pochopit svou dost možná krvavou minulost se rozhodne lidem přiblížit víc, než mu kdy bylo milé. Dokáže si i tentokrát Robokat udržet odstup od citově zmateného světa lidí a rostoucího zmatku ve své vlastní objevené osobnosti, nebo propadne zoufalství a frustraci z toho, že životu a vlastnímu já nelze porozumět a uchýlí se k nezájmu o sebe i druhé? Vydejte se znovu na neznámé planety a vesmírné stanice, kde platí jedno pravidlo: samotář zde nepřežije.

„Koho by kdy napadlo, že bezcitný stroj na zabíjení bude čelit tolika morálním dilematům?“ Bezcitný stroj na zabíjení, kterého čtenáři této sci-fi sérii znají pod jménem Robokat, se opět vrhá do víru dobrodružství a nebezpečných situací.
