Nel 1977 Robyn Davidson attraversa a piedi il deserto australiano partendo da Alice Springs fino ad arrivare all’Oceano Indiano, per complessive millesettecento miglia, con la sola compagnia di quattro cammelli e nel suo fedele cane. L'impresa è raccontato “in diretta” da “National Geographic” grazie al fotografo Rick Smolan, che segue la ragazza per tutto il viaggio.
