Patnáctiletý Charlie je velmi přemýšlivý, zakřiknutý a citlivý mladík, který to na střední škole, kde ho ostatní mají za podivína, nemá vůbec jednoduché; je to klasický případ "jiného, vymykajícího se" dítěte, které na sebe v takovýchto kolektivech vždy přitahuje posměch a šikanu.
