This is an Intermediate Level story in a series of ELT readers comprising a wide range of titles - some original and some simplified - from modern and classic novels, and designed to appeal to all age-groups, tastes and cultures. The books are divided into five levels: Starter Level, with about 300 basic words; Beginner Level (600 basic words); Elementary Level (1100); Intermediate Level (1600); and Upper Level (2200). This is a story of Colin Fenton, a small time business man who goes away on business & encounters a chap that is his double - John Bently. Colin is paid by Bently's wife to pretend for one night to be Bently, so that he is able to rob a jewellers. Unfortunately on the way to provide this alibi Colin has a car crash & dies. It is up to Mark Ashwood who fins the crash to discover the truth and inform Colin's real wife ..

The title Bouncing Blue Cups and Beach Visits relate to two of the 26 stories in the book. The stories, except the last one is a combination of fiction and reality. The last one, by Glen Kirkpatrick, is his story of his encounter with treasure hunters from the sunken Spanish vessel called the Atocha. The stories I created are based on different ideas I put together sitting in a writing class or based upon where I work. One story is based upon the question of what happens when someone opens the freezer door in a grocery store, and they disappear. There are three topics that are covered in two stories apiece. They take one scenario and show two possibilities of that scenario. I hope you enjoy the stories.
