Tomi (Tomáš) Reichental se narodil na Slovensku. Během 2. světové války byl společně s celou rodinou vězněn v koncentračním táboře Bergen-Belsen. Důvod - byli židé. Tomi Reichental žije od roku 1959 v Dublinu. Pětapadesát let nemluvil o svých válečných zážitcích, „ne protože bych nechtěl, ale protože jsem nemohl.“ Od chvíle, kdy se rozhodl porušit mlčení, se byl podívat v Bergen-Belsenu i v rodné vesnici Merašice. Často přednáší ve školách jako živoucí svědectví pravdy o holokaustu pro všechny nové generace.
