It is the same for a town as it is for a person : one must tolerate its flaws or mistakes, in order to have a mature and broad- minded understanding. Clichés that come to mind when we think of Lyon's inhabitants are their notorious taste for secrecy : Félix Benoît defines Lyon as "a town where people laugh litre they make love : in private", and their desire for recognition which, at one time, fuelled the frustration of not being the capital the of the country.
