Milostný příběh abbého Prévosta proměnil Vítězslav Nezval v jevištní báseň, v níž jde především o zachycení citových prožitků půvabné Manon a chudého rytíře Des Grieux. Manon, dychtivá přepychu a flirtu, přijímá obdiv a dary bohatých Duvalů a naivně si myslí, že tím pomáhá svému chudému rytíři. Nejrůznější intriky však nakonec dohánějí milence k deportaci za moře a k záhubě. Vydáno ke 100. výročí básníkova narození.
