Als de hoofdpersoon, een fervent jager, in het Chopping-district komt wonen, stuit hij bij zijn jacht naar korhoenders toevallig op een verlaten en halfverwoeste boerderij: Steenstad. Op datzelfde ogenblik staat hij oog in oog met Banger.
