Jeho likvidaci plánovali nejenom rozčarovaní souputníci, morálně otřesení frontoví bojovníci nebo chladně kalkulující důstojníci generálního štábu, ale rovněž ke všemu odhodlaní jednotlivci. Shrnutí atentátů od bombového útoku uměleckého truhláře Elsera z roku 1939 přes pokusy spiklenců kolem velitele armád Střed Tresckowa až po nejznámnější pokus dne 20.července 1944, provedený hrabětem Stauffenbergem. Hlavní pozornost je samozřejmě věnována Stauffenbergovu pokusu a následným nacistickým represím.
