This book serves as the first comprehensive monograph on the French artist, who is known for his reserved nature and preference for letting his art speak for itself. Born in 1963 in Troyes, France, and now residing near Paris, he attended the Paris art academy ENSAD and was part of the influential artist collective Les Frères Ripoulin alongside notable figures like Pierre Huyghe. Since the 1980s, he has been active in public spaces, predating the street art movement and the rise of graffiti culture. After the collective disbanded, he briefly explored classic painting before returning to the streets, where oversized billboards became his canvas. His works feature geometric and abstract compositions, drawing inspiration from color field painting and surreal dreamscapes. By blending avant-garde styles with commercial imagery, his art integrates seamlessly into urban environments. Over three decades, he has created around three hundred billboard paintings worldwide, with the photographs in this book being the only remnants of these ephemeral works. His creative process often involves responding to existing advertisements or finding ideal locations that influence his pieces, which he meticulously paints in his studio before adhering them to billboards. This collection showcases his most significant works from 2000 to 2014.
