This book is focused on the problem of the Slovak-Russian cultural ties through the contacts of the foremost activist of the Slovak renaissance, the poet, preacher and scientist Jan Kollar (1793-1852) with Russian scientific, social and state figures (Keppen, Pogodin, et al.). This book is especially interesting today, as research on the idea of Slavic unity, while Russia is redefining its relations with other Slavic nations and states. Index of names.
