Příběh začíná v Londýně, kde se jednoho rána Aruna rozhodne zásadně změnit svůj život. Přestože je již rok vdaná za pohledného lékaře, který ji velmi miluje, není šťastná. Doufá, že se ji zde podaří vyrovnat se se svou minulostí a smířit se s těmi, které miluje. Zjišťuje ale, že vrátit se domů je pro ni těžší, než bylo ho opustit.
