Neklidní je slovo charakterizující hlavní hrdiny této knihy, autorčiny rodiče – švédského režiséra Ingmara Bergmana a norskou herečku Liv Ullmannovou. Jako zralá spisovatelka však Linn Ullmanová nezůstává u pouhých autobiografických vzpomínek na soužití s matkou a na prázdninové pobyty u otce na ostrově Farö v Baltském moři. Její vyprávění balancuje na hraně mezi realitou a fikcí a je – jak sama zdůrazňuje – příběhem románových postav. Původní záměr napsat s otcem knihu podle společných rozhovorů zůstal nenaplněn, neboť během této práce režisér zemřel. Autorka, jíž nechybí sebeironie a klidný nadhled (který často u rodičů postrádala), pak ze střípků autentických nahrávek a vlastních vzpomínek vytvořila jedinečný román o dospívání i konci života, který překračuje hranice žánrů.
