Heinkel He 219 Uhu byl asi nejtragičtější obětí intrik a boje o vliv v průběhu 2. světové války v německém leteckém průmyslu. Tento vynikající noční stíhací letoun se mohl stát hrozivou zbraní proti spojeneckým bombardérům napadajících pod příkrovem tmy Třetí říši. Naštěstí pro ně mělo pro vládce Německa větší význam prosazování vlastních zájmů a získání co nejvyššího postavení v hierarchii. Heinkel a jeho letadlo byli položení na oltář dvorních intrik a osobních nenávistí.
