Po dvaceti letech práce jako právník v oblasti adopcí se autorka mohla naplno věnovat psaní. Její první dva romány byly historické fikce pro mladší čtenáře, ale nyní se věnuje i dospělé literatuře. Inspiraci pro svou tvorbu, a zejména pro knihu Chasing the Beatles, čerpá z lásky k hudbě a z hudebního světa svého manžela, hudebníka a skladatele Arthura Barroa.
