Russell Stannard (*24.12.1931 Londýn), fyzik v důchodu, emeritní profesor fyziky na Open University a držitel řady ocenění v oboru fyziky. Též sochař - dvě z jeho soch byly donedávna na hlavním nádvoří Open University v Milton Keynes. V roce 2010 řídil seriál nazvaný Hranice poznatelného (Boundaries of the knowable), který se zabýval tématy z vědecké i filozofické perspektivy, od podstaty vědomí, podstaty hmoty, prostoru a času, vlnově-částicové duality hmoty až po mimozemský život a otázku "Co způsobilo Velký třesk?".
