Dnešním neklidným světem se sv. Františkem. Americký kněz, teolog a spisovatel Richard Rohr OFM je prorok naší doby, který nás vyzývá k tomu, abychom změnili svoji cestu. V knize „Naděje proti temnotám“ nám nabízí, abychom to učinili františkánskou cestou proměny, onoho „nového způsobu bytí, které změnilo tvář našeho světa“. Obraz současného většinového západního způsobu myšlení, životních postojů a stavu kultury, který Rohr ve své knize načrtává, je neradostný – naše předsudky, pocity ublíženosti, naše obavy z lidí kolem nás, naše obavy z církve a z náboženství jakéhokoliv druhu, všechny naše vnitřní temnoty.
