Trnitá cesta je skvělým pokračováním neméně poutavé Kočičárny – Locklear poté, co zvítězil v souboji o svůj život i vládu nad podivuhodnou planetou Zoo, zjišťuje, že oživit hibernované cromagnonce nebyl možná ten nejlepší nápad. Netuší, že Zjizvená Tvář v Kwersatzu má úplně stejné problémy se starobylými Kzinty. Vlastně daleko horší… Hodina dětí ukazuje Wunderland během jeho okupace Kzinty jako místo, které se má změnit v nástupiště pro závěrečnou ofenzívu proti domovské soustavě lidské rasy. Jsou zde nejen lidé, ochotní v zájmu svého přežití ke kolaboraci, ale i zoufalé protiakce stále ještě přežívajících skupin odporu a neobvykle koncipovaná operace pozemských tajných služeb. (přebal)
