Oliver Twist (zkrácené dvojjazyčné vydání). Román Oliver Twist vycházel na pokračování v sešitech jednou týdně. V něm vykreslil krutost těžkého života chudiny a vykořisťování dětí. Román měl velký úspěch. Charlese Dickense řadíme mezi nejúspěšnější prozaiky 19. století. Kniha je převyprávěna moderním jazykem, pro začínající a mírně pokročilé angličtináře. Dvojjazyčné (zrcadlové) knihy patří mezi vhodné studijní doplňky pro výuku cizích jazyků. Texty v originálním jazyce jsou doplněny zrcadlovým českým překladem (nachází se po levé straně knihy). V pořadí devátý román anglického spisovatele Charlese Dickense. Vyšel postupně ve dvaceti měsíčních pokračováních mezi březnem 1852 a zářím 1853. Toto dílo je považováno za jeden z nejlepších Dickensových románů, neboť obsahuje velmi podrobné a mistrně propracované příběhy hlavních i vedlejších postav. Děj líčí několikaletý dědický spor, napadá soudní systém a skutečnost, že veřejnost nepřijímá chudobu a s tím mnohdy související zločinnost. V tomto díle Dickens používá střídání různých vypravěčských poloh. V tomto románu se poprvé v historii objevuje zmínka o neptačích dinosaurech v rámci klasické literatury. Dickens si v první kapitole románu pro dokreslení ponuré atmosféry příběhu vybral tehdy populárního megalosaura, prvního vědecky popsaného dinosaura (1824).
