Focusing on the impact of instruction on English learners, this study utilizes a Systemic Functional Grammar approach to examine how a ten-week thematic organization course influences Chinese college students' use of Theme and thematic progression in their writing. By comparing pre- and post-instruction essays to those of native speakers, the research reveals insights into improving thematic choices. It serves as a valuable resource for second-language acquisition researchers, curriculum developers, and foreign language educators, offering both findings and an instructional framework.

The book examines the evolution of metadiscourse in research articles written by Chinese scholars in both English and Chinese. It highlights how these changes mirror shifts in their interactions with peers domestically and internationally. Additionally, the analysis delves into how Chinese scholars adapt to evolving academic contexts that influence rhetorical practices within the global academic landscape.

The first part mainly introduces pulse positions and arrangement of zang-fu organs in the pulse, method to take pulse, normal and morbid pulse conditions, diagnosis based on the pulse rather than symptoms. In the second part, the basic knowledge of Jin's pulse diagnosis, pulse conditions (normal or abnormal), diagnostic method and the clinical application of Jin's pulse diagnosis are introduced.
