Floyd Gottfredson war der erste Disney-Comic-Zeichner der zu einer lebenden Legende wurde. Von 1930 bis 1975 schrieb und zeichnete er Micky Maus-Geschichten für Disneys Zeitungsstrip-Abteilung. Floyd Gottfredson ist berühmt für die Erfindung einer Vielzahl von Mickys Co-Stars, aber auch dafür, aus Micky Maus eine glaubwürdige, sympathische und einzigartig lebendige Comic-Figur gemacht zu haben. Demnach war es längst überfällig, dieser Koryphäe einen eigenen Hall-of-Fame-Band zu widmen.
Floyd Gottfredson prägte Micky Maus wie kein anderer und etablierte die Figur in seinen legendären Comic-Strips für US-amerikanische Tageszeitungen.
