Povídku o Vánocích napsal velšský básník Dylan Thomas ještě před koncem druhé světové války, ale vydána nakonec byla po větších i menších peripetiích a změnách až v roce 1954. Od té doby se ale toto drobné dílo stalo vánoční klasikou v mnoha zemích.
