Jedinými občany, kteří nejsou tak důsledně sledování, zůstávájí dělníci – proléti. Jejich životní podmínky jsou ale tak bídné, že opravdu nemají myšlenky na nějaký ideozločin. Navíc jsou dokonale ovládáni stranickou propagandou a slepě věří smyšleným úspěchům, které se dozví z obrazovky.
