Hans Albert (* 1921) navazuje na kritický racionalismus Karla Poppera, jehož předpoklady (kriticismus, falibilismus, realismus, pluralismus ad.) systematicky rozvíjí v kontextu teorie poznání a teorie vědy, sociální a politické teorie. V diskusi s celou škálou „tradičních“ filosofických směrů se pokouší navrhnout takovou metodologii řešení problémů, jež bude odpovídat reálné poznávací praxi.
