This is the true story of the first woman to successfully sue her psychiatrist for using sex in the guise of therapy. After Julie Roy's marriage was shattered, she got involved in a lesbian experience that added to her troubles. Julie, in despair, turned for help to Dr. Renatus Hartogs. As part of her therapy, the 60-year-old doctor induced the 31-year-old woman to enter into a strange sexual relationship with him. For a time Julie seemed to mend; then, abruptly, the doctor broke off the relationship. Her condition deteriorated gravely. She was hospitalized twice, and she needed extensive therapy from other doctors to enable her to rebuild her life.
