Der Band mit neuem, attraktivem Cover wurde um mindestens 30 Seiten reduziert (weniger Reiseorte, ehemalige Tour 4, die "Grosse Portugal-Rundreise", fehlt, komprimierter Hintergrund). Farbintensive, stimmungsvolle Fotos und zusammengestellte Erlebnisangebote ("magische Momente", "6-mal Überraschendes", "10 Souvenirs") laden den Reisenden ein, dem portugiesischen Lebensgefühl (Azulejos, Bacalhau, Fado, Kork, Portwein, Sardinen usw.), seiner Geschichte, Kunst und Kultur näherzukommen. Reiseinformationen wurden aktualisiert soweit überprüfbar. Wieder als Grundbestand empfohlen neben M. Müller (ID-A 27/17), vor "Portugal kompakt" derselben Autorin (Reise-Know-how; eT 1/18) und S. Lier (Bruckmann, Zeit für das Beste; ID-B 9/18). Bruckmanns Bildband "Portugal" (ID-B 22/18) zur Einstimmung. Die 14. Auflage 2017 kann verbraucht werden, 12. und ältere Auflagen sollten gelöscht werden.
