Jan Yoors Knihy

    Jan Yoors se narodil do umělecky založené, liberální rodiny, ale ve dvanácti letech utekl k romské komunitě a strávil s nimi deset let. Během druhé světové války pomáhal Romům, kteří byli systematicky vyhlazováni, a sám byl dvakrát zajat a vězněn. Po válce se usadil v New Yorku, kde se věnoval uměleckému tkaní, na němž spolupracoval se svou ženou a její sestrou. Jeho práce získala mezinárodní uznání. Později se zaměřil na fotografii, vrátil se do Evropy a zdokumentoval přeživší Romy, což vedlo k výstavě a ilustraci jeho knihy.
