Působí v poradních výborech společností Grove International, Summitomo, Shoji a American Management Association. Je zakládajícím partnerem Boston Consulting Group a v roce 1966 založil první mezinárodní konzultační firmu pro BCG v Japonsku. Vlastní firmu si založil v roce 1984, kdy přijal profesuru na Sophia University. Strávil více než třicet let v Japonsku jako manažerský konzultant a akademik a nyní je japonským občanem.
