As an extension to the basilica-like museum, built in 1836 for Canova's plaster originals, Carlo Scarpa composed a small, but highly articulated building.

The Brion cemetery is a major work of the Venetian architect Carlo Scarpa. 600 drawings document step-by-step the individual phases of the project together with photographs by Gerald Zugmann. The book also contains a biography of Scarpa.

This new critical guidebook, written and organised by Sergio Los, one of the leading scholars of Scarpa's work, certainly stands out as the indispensible travelling companion (whether that travel is physical or done from an armchair) for those setting out to explore the city.
