V předchozí knize Mosad se Michael Bar Zohar s Nisimem Mišalem zabývali nejslavnějšími operacemi izraelské tajné služby, a napínavě popsali nebezpečné akce jejích příslušníků, kteří v zájmu své země ochotně riskovali život. Tato kniha na činnost Mosadu navazuje a věnuje se třiceti nejodvážnějším vojenským misím izraelských zvláštních jednotek. Poutavě líčí nejdůležitější bitvy, záškodnické akce hluboko v nepřátelském území a úkoly speciálních komand a při té příležitosti odhaluje obavy a naděje nejvyšších velitelů i obyčejných vojáků. Autoři se soustřeďují na operace, které se podařily, ale nezamlčují ani ty, jež skončily nezdarem. Čtenář se seznámí i se soukromým a profesním životem nejvýznamnějších osobností izraelského života: Moše Dajanem, Arielem Šaronem, bratry Netanjahuovými, Ehudem Barakem a Avigdorem Kahalanim. Vojenskou kariéru Ariela Šarona můžeme například sledovat od roku 1948, kdy v bitvě o Latrun málem přišel o život, až po překročení Suezského kanálu roku 1973. Ehud Barak se nám představí při odvážné akci v Bejrútu (1973), které velel v ženském převleku, a potom se s ním znovu setkáme v roce 1999, kdy byl zvolen ministerským předsedou.
