Anna Pasternaková čerpá z archivních a rodinných zdrojů a vůbec poprvé odhaluje Olžinu nezastupitelnou roli v Pasternakově životě. Přesvědčivě dokládá, že bez Olgy by Pasternak Doktora Živaga nikdy nedokončil ani nevydal.

Daisy je žena, kterou byste chtěli mít za kamarádku. Stále veselá, trochu potrhlá a zmatená, jako my ostatní. Blíží se ke čtyřicítce a je přesvědčena, že jediná věc je horší, než být svobodná ve 38 letech - být rozvedená ve 39 letech. Euforie z úniku z krátkého a katastrofického manželství ji vhání do milostných avantýr a její deník věrně zachycuje báječné i smutné chvilky života rozvedené ženy a čtenáři kromě bohaté zábavy přinese i životní moudrost. • Focusing on the author's childhood during WWII, the narrative offers a personal perspective distinct from typical accounts of the Holocaust. It highlights the everyday experiences and challenges faced during a tumultuous time, providing insight into the impact of war on a young life. The memoir captures the innocence of youth amidst global conflict, emphasizing personal stories over broader historical atrocities.

The Untold Story of a Young Girl During WWII
    • The heartbreaking story of the passionate love affair between Boris Pasternak and Olga Ivinskaya - the tragic true story that inspired 'Doctor Zhivago'. 'Doctor Zhivago' has sold in its millions yet the true love story that inspired it has never been fully explored. Pasternak would often say 'Lara exists, go and meet her', directing his visitors to the love of his life and literary muse, Olga Ivinskaya. They met in 1946 at the literary journal where she worked. Their relationship would last for the remainder of their lives. Olga paid an enormous price for loving 'her Boria'. She became a pawn in a highly political game and was imprisoned twice in Siberian labour camps because of her association with him and his controversial work. Her story is one of unimaginable courage, loyalty, suffering, tragedy, drama and loss. Drawing on both archival and family sources, Anna Pasternak's book reveals for the first time the critical role played by Olga in Boris's life and argues that without Olga it is likely that Doctor Zhivago would never have been completed or published. Anna Pasternak is a writer and member of the famous Pasternak family. She is the great-granddaughter of Leonid Pasternak, the impressionist painter and Nobel Prize winning novelist Boris Pasternak was her great-uncle. She is the author of three previous books.

Who was the real Wallis: an opportunistic American social climber, a master manipulator or the true love of Edward's life? Amid the cacophony of condemnation her story has become obfuscated. Untitled is an intimate biography of one of the most misunderstood women in British royal history.

    • This book presents the life of Wallis Simpson, an American socialite and wife of the Duke of Windsor and former British king, Edward VIII. The story that has been told repeatedly is this: The handsome, charismatic, and popular Prince Edward was expected to marry a well-bred virgin who would one day become Queen of England when he ascended the throne. But when the prince was nearly forty, he fell in love with a divorced American woman, Wallis Simpson. No one thought the relationship would last, and when the prince did become king, everyone assumed that was the end of the affair. But to the shock of the British establishment, the new king announced his intention to marry the American divorcee. Overnight, Wallis was accused of entrapping the prince in a seductive web in order to achieve her audacious ambition to be queen. After declaring that he could not rule without the woman he loved, the king abdicated, and his family banished him and his new wife from the country. The couple spent the rest of their days in exile, but happy in their devoted love for each other. Now, Anna Pasternak's The American Dutchess tells a different story: that Wallis was the victim of the abdication, not the villain. Warm, well-mannered, and witty, Wallis was flattered by Prince Edward's attention, but like everyone else, she never expected his infatuation to last. She never anticipated his jealous, possessive nature and his absolute refusal to let her go. Edward's true dark nature, however, was no secret to the royal family, the church, or the Parliament; everyone close to Edward knew that beyond his charming facade, he was utterly unfit to rule. Caught in Edward's fierce obsession, she became the perfect scapegoat for those who wished to dethrone the troubled king
