Jill Barklemová byla britská autorka a ilustrátorka dětských knih, která se proslavila zejména sérií Břečťanový živý plot. Po úrazu v mládí se začala věnovat kreslení a umění, což ji dovedlo ke studiu ilustrace v Londýně. Pět let věnovala výzkumu, než začala psát své první příběhy o myškách z Břečťanového živého plotu. Její dílo se vyznačuje detailními ilustracemi a láskyplným vykreslením přírody a života v ní.
