Za svoji knihu Poutník u Tinker Creeku dostala Annie Dillardová v roce 1977, ještě před dovršením třiceti let, Pullitzerovu cenu. Zaznamenává v ní, postupně od jara až po zimu, rok svého života stráveného u potoka Tinker Creek ve Virginii. Své kontemplace o přírodě komponuje autorka z deníkových záznamů, k prostému deníku má ale dílo daleko.
