Metodičtí Němci se nakonec s klimatickými podmínkami víceméně vyrovnali, ale i tak se museli smířit se skutečností, že narazili na velmi odolného a početně silnějšího protivníka, který byl nakonec nad jejich síly. Unter den Fotografien befinden sich auch mehrere Abbildungen seltener Fahrzeuge sowie von der Wehrmacht in Dienst gestellter Beutefahrzeuge. Bisher unveröffentlichte Fotos, zahlreiche davon aus Alben von Privatpersonen, die den Krieg selbst erfahren und daran teilgenommen haben, machen das vorliegende Werk zu einer außergewöhnlichen und hervorragenden Bilddokumentation der deutschen Panzerwaffe im Einsatz von 1939-45.

Sceny miejskiego życia, których pozorna normalność przejmuje dreszczem, ustępują z czasem obrazom barbarzyństwa, którego dopuszczali się naziści. Zdjęcia opatrzono szczegółowymi komentarzami, jednak nie potrzeba słów, by dotarło do nas najważniejsze przesłanie książki: że na moralną katastrofę Holokaustu składały się tragedie konkretnych, zwyczajnych ludzkich istnień. Szczególnie dobitne okazują są rzadkie, kolorowe fotografie zamieszczone na końcu albumu. Ich zaskakująca bezpośredniość uzmysławia nam, że te dramatyczne sceny rozgrywały się na ulicach polskich miast zaledwie kilka dekad temu. Publikacja zawiera drastyczne fotografie i nie jest zalecana dla niepełnoletnich odbiorców.
