A nakonec se vydá na nebezpečnou výpravu po úbočích himelájských velehor, aby tam pátral po zmizelém šlechtici a převzácném drahokamu.

Roy Thomas a John Buscema spojili své síly, aby z Conana vytvořili jednu z nejlepších komiksových sérií všech dob. Conan putuje Hyborií a nakonec se ocitne jako voják v armádě svého někdejšího nepřítele - krále Yedzigerda. Prochází bažinami Stygie, džunglemi Kúše i Zembabwe a východní říší Kitaj.
