Boris Podrecca

Více o knize

Boris Podrecca is the prototype of a Central European architect, realizing the interconnectedness of diverse roots and sources within a region that embodies a specific tradition and modernity: the Upper Adriatic with its Austro-Hungarian past. Podrecca integrates these influences into his distinctive buildings and public spaces. His historical awareness and engagement with modernist figures such as Gottfried Semper, Josef Plecnik, Max Fabiani, and Adolf Loos establish him as one of the greats in his field. This monograph illustrates his extensive and varied work across Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Italy, and Germany through numerous color photographs of architectural works, public space designs, and interior architectures, including the Museum of Modern Art Ca’ Pesaro in Venice and the Novi Bric winery at the Slovenia/Croatia/Italy border. In Vienna, Podrecca is noted for the Millennium Tower and his exemplary social housing project. The book also showcases his recent designs for the Museum of Science and Technology in Belgrade and the new headquarters of Wiener Städtische and Donau Versicherung in Graz.
