Chvíli mi trvalo zvyknout si na autorův styl psaní, ale kniha je fantastická. Vychází ze skutečných informací a v podstatě jde o románově zpracovanou kroniku ghetta. Nedokážu si ani představit, kolik práce muselo dát shromáždit všechny podklady. Autor nás dokázal vtáhnout tak, že jsme se při čtení cítili skoro jako obyvatelé ghetta v období druhé světové války. A to „nechcete“ – ten vjem je sice jedinečný, ale zároveň na vás opakovaně dopadá zvláštní tíseň. Doporučujeme také knihu Krutá léta od Františka Kafky - českého autora, která popisuje velmi podobné téma, jen z pohledu českých občanů deportovaných do ghetta.
