In an attempt to escape her writer's block, Iris heads to a bar in Portland, where a night of dancing with a stranger, Stefania, leads to a disastrous one-night stand. To distract herself further, Iris auditions for a local play, only to discover that Stevie, the stranger from the bar, is also involved. When Stevie asks Iris to pretend to be her girlfriend, Iris is taken aback but agrees, hoping this fake relationship might spark her creativity.
