Tak tohle bylo boží. Když jsem knihu brala do ruky, čekala jsem, že to bude nějaká špatně napsaná slátanina, ale hned po prvních pár stránkách mě přesvědčila o opaku. Svět je velmi srozumitelně popsaný a dobře uchopitelný. Žádný zdlouhavý worldbuilding a vysvětlování jak to tam funguje. Vše se dozvíte organicky v průběhu příběhu, který plyne s takovou lehkostí, až vás to bude trochu děsit. Jestli ale čekáte nějaké velké bitvy a akci, zklamu vás, kniha je tempem spíš pomalejší a poklidnější, to jí na čtivosti ovšem neubírá, právě naopak. Ginevru jsem si oblíbila takřka okamžitě. Její lehká společenská neohrabanost a tvrdohlavost jsou jak zdrojem zábavy, tak tvůrcem klíčových momentů příběhu. Není hloupá a jednoduchá princezna v nesnázích, ale není to ani žádná Mary Sue. Velkým tématem knihy je Ginevřina cesta k sebepoznání, boj s její tajemnou minulostí a možná, možná konečně nalezení něčeho, čemu by mohla říkat domov a rodina. Vůbec jsem v knize nečekala romanci, ale i tak si tam plíživými kroky cestičku našla. A pokud je to právě to, co hledáte, máte se na co těšit, protože je to definice slow-burn yearning. ?? Z ostatních postav jsem si naprosto zamilovala Ginevřinu komornou Brangien a její kousavé poznámky a samozřejmě našeho dokonalého, unaveného a břemenem kralování zatíženého Artuše i jeho edge lord synovce (Artušův rodokmen je skoro kruh, neptejte se, čtěte) Mordreda. Každopádně, kniha je podle mě fakt skvělá a zaslouží si aby se o ní dozvědělo víc lidí.
