This treasury of 52 stories offers a rich collection of myths, fairy tales, and legends from around the globe, providing a tale for every week of the year. Organized into 12 chapters corresponding to each month, the stories align with internationally celebrated dates, including Valentine's Day and the International Day of Friendship, as well as seasonal events and festivals. Award-winning author Angela McAllister has collected and retold these stories, while internationally recognized artist Christopher Corr provides the illustrations, making this a cherished resource for families, teachers, and librarians worldwide. The contents include stories such as "Father Frost" from Russia, "The Magic Porridge Pot" from Germany, and "King of the Forest" from China in January; "The Frog Prince" from Germany and "The Mole's Wedding" from Korea in February; "Gelert the Hound" from Wales and "The Bird Wife" from Inuit culture in March; and many more throughout the year. Each month features tales that resonate with cultural celebrations and themes, from Easter stories like "The Basket of Eggs" to Halloween's "The Buried Moon." This compilation not only entertains but also educates, bridging cultural gaps through storytelling.
