Thrillerů, kde někdo zmizí a po letech se na světlo světa dere jeho osud, všem zúčastněným vypadává ze skříně jeden kostlivec za druhým a všichni se navzájem za ty roky odcizili, jsem už přesycen. Přesto mě Kala dost bavila. Vše se točí kolem dívky, která měla ráda Rage Against The Machine (má vkus), pohnutý osud, partu věrných kamarádů a jednoho dne zmizela. Nevyřešený případ se znovu otevře v momentě, kdy se najdou její ostatky – partička dospěla, někdo vyrazil z irské díry do světa dělat kariéru, jiný se zasekl na místě a všichni se snaží rozlousknout, co se s Kalou vlastně stalo. Jo, pořád to není moc originální. Ale je to strašně dobře napsaný. Colin Walsh totiž neřeší jen samotný případ, ale odkrývá složité vztahy a velmi věrně vykresluje pubertální každodennost. Právě tohle mě na Kale bavilo nejvíc – s autorem jsem vyrůstal v prakticky totožné době a mládež v Irsku se evidentně bavila podobně :) Pro Gen Z a mladší tohle asi bude pravěk, ale ve vystižení jednoho období Walsh exceluje. Pokud máte v tomto žánru načteno, brzy vám asi bude jasné, kdo za zmizením Kaly stojí, ale o to tady vlastně úplně nejde. Výborný debut.

Všechny nápovědy tam leží a vy to stejně nečekáte. Teda aspoň já nečekala. A to já to, prosimvás, většinou čekám. Ještě lepší je, že “kdo je vrah”, nebo teda “jsou vrah” i docela dává smysl. Jo a btw. má to hezkou obálku, no.
