For pilot certification and flight review, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requires oral as well as written exams for pilot certification. An Instrument Rating can be added to the Private Pilot or Commercial Pilot Rating and requires special training. This guide provides the most consistent questions asked of an Instrument Pilot applicant in the instrument competency check.
