Celebrating its 160th anniversary in 2008, this arboretum cemetery spans 250 acres and serves as a historic resting place for notable figures like poets Anne Sexton and E. E. Cummings, and abolitionist William Lloyd Garrison. Established in 1848, it features a landscape rich with sculptures and monuments reflecting the Victorian era to modern times. The site includes New England's first crematorium, where suffragette Lucy Stone was the first to be cremated in 1893. Forest Hills Cemetery is recognized on the National Register of Historic Places.
