Troy cleverly intertwines the myth and reality of the legend, with the discovery of what may have been the actual ruins of Troy by Frank Calvert and Heinrich Schliemann, in northwestern Turkey between the years of 1865-1890. The enduring popularity of Troy and its characters have been reflected in plays, poems, books and films - from Homer to the present.
