This celebration of Romanesque and Gothic architecture is built around the stunning photographs of Achim Bednorz. Although the focus is very much on aesthetics with text playing second fiddle to the photographs, useful information on the terminology of church architecture, and discussions of developments in design and their expression in a huge range of buildings from across Europe is also included.
