Cayce Varin, a distinguished Professor of AI-neuroscience and Theory of Mind, holds dissident views that clash with the accepted norms of Human Biologicals and the Federation of Pandemos. Resisting this virus requires taking the addictive drug Eraserall, but it means living as a fugitive, hunted by Robot Police Agents for “treatment.” The only hope for Varin and his allies lies in infiltrating Essential Data, Collective Mind’s core processing center.
