This work summarizes the author's achievements and research on the interconnected triad of 'Operational Risk – Resource Security – Business Continuity,' previously discussed in earlier publications. The author posits that understanding risk through these three integrated perspectives may be crucial for addressing contemporary management challenges. Key points include: analyzing risk clarifies the unpredictability of actions; establishing security enhances predictability; and ensuring business continuity reflects the human desire for resilience in facing challenges. Recently, there has been a resurgence of interest in the resource approach, which, despite some criticism, is vital for risk analysis related to business continuity, as disruptions often stem from resource loss or control issues. This analytical approach is essential for ensuring security and continuity. The growing body of scientific knowledge highlights the need for deeper exploration of operational risk management principles, particularly in the context of business continuity, which has been largely overlooked in management sciences. A critical question arises regarding the placement of the “Operational Risk – Resource Security – Business Continuity” triad within this discipline, emphasizing the necessity to formalize its concepts, conduct rules, and management strategies in the realm of management theory.
