This book, accompanying an international exhibition tour, showcases highlights from his prolific career, including rediscovered images, celebrating his lasting influence on modern photography and visual art. The exhibition will be on view at the Helmut Newton Foundation in Berlin from October 31, 2021, to May 22, 2022.

Entstanden zwischen Mitte der 1960er und den 1980ern, dokumentiert diese Auswahl aus Newtons Modefotografien – eines seiner ersten Bücher überhaupt – die Entwicklung seines Stils über fast zwei Jahrzehnte. In tagebuchartigen Notizen und Anekdoten lässt Newton zu allen Bildern noch einmal ihre Entstehungsgeschichte lebendig werden. Newton hat mit diesen Arbeiten wie kaum ein anderer der Modefotografie neue Impulse gegeben – ein Einfluss, der auch heute noch auf den Seiten der internationalen Modemagazine ablesbar ist.
